§ Mr. FreesonI announced the results of my review of the legislative and administrative provision concerning homelessness on 15th December 1975 in reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Hackney, South and Shoreditch (Mr. Brown).—[Vol. 902, c.473–5.]—I then said that we proposed to legislate to place the statutory responsibility for accommodation on housing authorities, and to clarify the related responsibilities of social services authorities, and I promised to make an announcement before legislation was introduced. This remains the position.
§ Mr. Brothertonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will show category by category, and district council by district council, the total number of homeless persons in Humberside.
§ Mr. ArmstrongAs I told my hon. Friend the Member for Mitcham and Morden (Mr. Douglas-Mann) on 29th July.—[Vol. 916, c.362–3.]—I shall publish the first results from the new system of collecting statistics about homeless people shortly. I will then write to the hon. Member.
