§ Mr. Harold WalkerThe cost of the Recruitment Subsidy Scheme for school leavers has been estimated at up to £5 million. Unemployment benefit for a single person is at present £9.80, but in November it will be increased to £11.10. The extra cost could therefore be estimated at approximately £5 millions, or approximately £6½ millions.
