§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what were the topics covered in his talks with the Educational Institute of Scotland on Tuesday 12th November; and if he will make a statement on progress made during the meeting in resolving present problems in Scottish education.
§ Mr. William RossI had a useful discussion with the EIS about current issues concerning both me and the profession. The EIS urged me to make a statement about the prospects of an early interim payment to teachers. I made a statement on Friday 15th November.
