HC Deb 02 May 1974 vol 872 c543W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his estimate of the cost difference between the Government's plans for improving the A9 road and converting the road to dual carriageway.

Mr. William Ross

The Government's plans for rebuilding the A9 between Perth and Ardullie on the Cromarty Firth provide for about 25 per cent. to be dual carriageway. The additional cost of providing dual carriageway for the whole length would be between £30 million and £40 million at present prices.
