§ Mr. William RossI have received numerous representations from local authorities and others. I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave on 30th April to my hon. Friend the Member for Glasgow, Garscadden (Mr. Small). No similar arrangement is being made for improvement work carried out by local authorities on their own houses, but the financial effect on them of the ending of the higher level of Exchequer contribution is considerably offset by housing expenditure subsidy.
