§ Mr. Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he has discussed with the industries concerned the effect on employment of Her Majesty's Government's policies to reduce defence expenditure and to restrict the sale of defence equipment abroad.
§ Mr. John FraserThe employment implications of the review of defence expenditure are not being overlooked but, as the review is not yet complete, no discussions with industry have taken place. I am not aware of any restrictions on the sale of defence equipment abroad which have called for consultations.
