§ Mr. Gordon Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Trade what remaining steps in the Holland Martin Report require to be taken in order to bring provisions for the health, welfare and safety of fishermen into line with those found in industry on land.
§ Mr. Clinton DavisThe most important matters outstanding which concern my Department are safety surveys of fishing vessels on which statutory rules and new survey arrangements are in an advanced stage of preparation; occupational safety, on which the Recommended Code of Safety, published in 1969, will shortly be reviewed; rest periods and crew accommodation, on which discussions are proceeding with the industry; and discipline, including the problem of drink and drugs, on which a working party is being set up representative of both sides of the industry.
