asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will have inquiries made into the feasibility of protecting, for the benefit of local fishermen, shellfish in certain areas e.g. around islands, from boats from elsewhere.

I doubt if such a measure is practicable or desirable. I should need compelling reasons for seeking to interfere with the public right of fishing in the sea.
