Mr. Pink

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will make a statement on the EEC meeting of Transport Ministers regarding a common approach to railway policy in member countries.

Mr. Mulley

The EEC Council meeting on 27th June 1974 reached agreement on the principles which should govern the preparation of Community law affecting the relations between member States and their railway undertakings. They are, in general, in accordance with our policies.
