asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he is ready to announce the names of the members of the Committee of Inquiry into the education of handicapped children and young people, under the chairmanship of Mrs. Mary Warnock.

Mr. Prentice

Yes. I am glad to announce that the following people have agreed to serve on this committee.

intends to take steps to increase the grant to the Arts Council over and above particular grant in aid to meet the effects of value added tax.

Mr. Hugh Jenkins

The council is under an obligation to work within the grant made to it by Parliament, which has been increased by £750,000 to take account of the effects of VAT in 1973–74. I am of course in regular touch with the council about the particular problems faced by its clients.
