The museum is aware of the exceptional conditions under which application may be made for a special grant. If the museum considers in due course that these conditions apply, the Government will give any application the fullest consideration.

Mr. Faulds

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what additional purchase grant he intends to make to the Victoria and Albert Museum in view of the fact that the 1974–75 grant has been exhausted and a part of the 1975–76 grant already forespent.

None. The acquisition grants are settled on a quinquennial basis.
