HC Deb 30 July 1974 vol 878 c194W
Mr. Normanton

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1) what arrangements he proposes to make for compensation for the loss of personal property by British civilian pilots and crews operating in Cyprus;

(2) what arrangements he proposes to make for compensation for the loss of personal property by British citizens resident in Cyprus arising out of the Greek/Turkish military operations there.

Mr. Hattersley

The Government have every sympathy with those British subjects who have lost personal property during the recent troubles in Cyprus. In some cases the losses will be covered by insurance. Where they are not so covered British subjects should seek legal advice about how to pursue claims for compensation against the Government or authority whom they believe to be responsible.
