asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will introduce legislation to set up special courts to deal with cases arising from accident and injury on rigs at present dealt with under the Continental Shelf (Jurisdiction) Order of 1968.

Mr. Strang

No. The Continental Shelf (Jurisdiction) Order 1968 as extended by the amendment order 1971 makes provision for such cases to be dealt with in the same way as cases arising from accidents and injuries in industry on shore.
