§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what proportion of the recent increase, published in the Civil Estimates 1974–75 on 26th March, of £1.447 million in the annual grant for the general purposes of the Arts Council is estimated by him to allow for the effects of inflation; and what proportion represents an increase of that annual grant in real terms.
§ Mr. Hugh JenkinsProvision for the effects of inflation is made in the council's recurrent grant. The increase in the recurrent grant is £2.167 million of which £1.741 million relates to inflation. The increase in real terms is approximately 3 per cent.
