asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if the proposed increase in the mineworker's pension will affect retired miners who are in receipt of supplementary benefit; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Dean

Under the supplementary benefit scheme, up to £1 of superannuation and certain other forms of income is disregarded. Thereafter, any increase in such income is fully taken into account.
