HC Deb 25 October 1972 vol 843 c302W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Attorney-General whether he is now able to give the total costs involved in the apprehension, trial and sentence of Frederick Sewell; and to what extent this man has been or will be asked to contribute towards these costs.

The Attorney-General

The cost of the prosecution of the trial and sentence of Frederick Sewell was £21,033. It is not yet possible to ascertain the cost to public funds of the legally aided defence as the defendant's contribution is still being ascertained. The cost of the apprehension of Frederick Sewell is not available.
