HC Deb 25 October 1972 vol 843 cc301-2W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Attorney-General what representations the Government have received regarding thalidomide children and their needs; what replies have been sent; and if he will make a statement.

The Attorney-General

Eight letters have been received from hon. Members and from Members of the public within the last month complaining of delay in settling these cases and of the level of the proposed settlement. The Government's responsibility in relation to private litigation is for the proper administration of the courts, which has not been called in question.
