Mr. Merlyn Rees

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what are the categories of aliens who require an entry certificate or other form of pre-entry documentation before entry to the United Kingdom.

The visa requirements for aliens are set out in the Appendix to the White Paper, Aliens; Instructions to Immigration Officers (Cmnd. 4296). In addition, aliens seeking entry in order to take employment must be in possession of of work permits.
