HC Deb 04 February 1971 vol 810 cc418-9W
51. Mr. Iremonger

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she will circulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT a list of the precise questions to which the Natural Environment Research Council is currently trying to find an answer, and state when the Council expects to publish its conclusions in respect of each question, what machinery exists for securing action in the light of the Council's recommendations, and what is the cost to public funds of the Council's work.

Mrs. Thatcher

The Research Council's latest annual report indicates the fields of research supported. The council publishes details of the results of research in various forms as these become available. In the current financial year the council's grant in aid is estimated at £13,919,000. Action on the council's recommendations is taken by a wide range of bodies within and outside Government.
