HC Deb 04 February 1971 vol 810 c437W
Mr. Mudd

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the total of working days lost for the years 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970, in respect of workers stood-off as a result of official and unofficial industrial stoppages, respectively.

Mr. Bryan

The information is not available because estimates of the number of working days lost through industrial stoppages are not compiled separately for:

  1. (a) workers stood-off (that is indirectly involved at the establishment where the dispute occurred), and
  2. (b) workers directly involved (that is parties to the dispute).

It follows that separate information for those stood-off is not available for disputes known to have been official.
