Mr. McNamara

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many meetings of the working group on the implementation of Recommendation 7 of the Holland-Martin Report, have been held and on what dates; who are the members of the working group; and what interests they represent.

Mr. Noble

It is hoped to have a first meeting of the working group early next year when a first draft of the detailed rules should be ready for consideration. The membership of the working group is at present as follows:

Fishing Industry

  • The British Trawlers' Federation Ltd.
  • The Scottish Trawlers' Federation.
  • Grimsby Seiners Association.
  • Fisheries Organisation Society.
  • Scottish Inshore Fishing Industry.

Seafarers Radio and Electronic Officers Union.

Marine Radio Manufacturers

  • International Marine Radio Co. Ltd.
  • Marconi International Marine Co. Ltd.
  • Kelvin Hughes.
  • Redifon Ltd.

Government and other Official Bodies

  • Department of Trade and Industry.
  • Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.
  • Post Office.
  • Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
  • Department of Agriculture and Fisheries for Scotland.

In addition we hope to include the Hull Trawler Officers' Guild and Grimsby Trawler Officers' Guild.
