asked the Minister of Transport what overall increase there has been in bus fares between 1964 and the present day.

Mr. Bob Brown:

In the six years between 1964 and 1969 there was an average increase in stage service fares of approximately 20 per cent. overall. This compares with an average increase in the six-year period 1959–64 of approximately 28 per cent. overall.
