HC Deb 12 May 1970 vol 801 cc250-1W
Mr. Tudor Watkins

asked the Minister of Transport how many applications have been made to withdraw bus services in Brecon and Radnor; how many have been allowed; how many services have been restricted during the last 12 months; if he will give the names of the companies concerned; and which services were a replacement following rail closures.

Mr. Bob Brown:

Services can be discontinued by the operator surrendering the licence; the Traffic Commissioners' approval is not required. Two services have been withdrawn in Brecon and Radnor during the last 12 months, Brecon-Hereford, a former rail replacement service, operated by Western Welsh Omnibus Co. Ltd., and Velindre-Hay on Wye, operated by Wye Valley Motors Ltd. Information about reductions in services is not readily available.
