asked the Minister of Transport whether Her Majesty's Government accepts Resolution No. 431 on the problem of urban traffic which was adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on 26th January, 1970; and whether they intend to take steps to make advanced technical solutions in the field of urban traffic move forward from the experimental stage to the stage of application.

The Government consider the rôle of advanced technology in tackling the urban traffic problem to be important. Various studies are being carried out, and every encouragement will be given to applying results of value.
