HC Deb 16 March 1970 vol 798 c73W
Mr. Robert Howarth

asked the Minister of Transport if he will call for a report into the multiple vehicle crash on the M6 on 9th March during foggy and icy conditions; if he will ask for the report to make special reference to the absence of a central reservation crash barrier and to give the estimated speed of those involved in the crash; and if he will publish the contents.

Mr. Bob Brown

We have already had a preliminary report. No vehicle crossed the central reserve and a crash barrier would have had no effect on this accident. In the opinion of Staffordshire Police, none of the vehicles involved was going excessively fast before the accident.
