HC Deb 24 July 1970 vol 804 cc272-3W
Mr. Gourlay

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware of the increasing number of serious and fatal accidents on the A907 between Aberdour and Kirkcaldy; whether he will make a statement regarding a starting date for the proposed East Fife Regional Road; and if he will authorise expenditure on the improvements needed on the A907.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

Recent figures of fatal and serious accidents on the A987/A907 Aberdour—Kirkcaldy route do not show an upward trend. I shall be in a better position to forecast a starting date for the East Fife Regional Road when the current engineering survey has been completed: meanwhile I do not consider that major improvement of the A907 would be justified.
