§ Mr. Biggs-Davison
asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement about his policy regarding implementation of the United Kingdom's defence treaty with Mauritius, in view of Mauritius' decision to grant marine facilities to the Soviet Union.
§ Mr. Anthony Royle
We have not yet received the text of the arrangements104W agreed by the Mauritius Government with the Soviet Union. I am not therefore in a position at present to comment on the implications, if any, of these arrangements for our defence agreement with Mauritius.
