HC Deb 21 July 1970 vol 804 cc103-4W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement about his policy regarding implementation of the United Kingdom's defence treaty with Mauritius, in view of Mauritius' decision to grant marine facilities to the Soviet Union.

Mr. Anthony Royle

We have not yet received the text of the arrangements agreed by the Mauritius Government with the Soviet Union. I am not therefore in a position at present to comment on the implications, if any, of these arrangements for our defence agreement with Mauritius.
