HC Deb 21 July 1970 vol 804 c103W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he has had an opportunity of studying the pamphlet, "Britain and the European Economic Community, Implication for Commonwealth Primary Producers", published by the Commonwealth Producers Organisation, a copy of which has been sent to him; and whether in the light of it he will now withdraw Great Britain's application to join the Common Market.

Mr. Anthony Royle

I have received a copy of this pamphlet and it is being studied. I would reiterate what my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster said in answer to a Question by the hon. Member for South Ayrshire (Mr. Sillars) on 14th July, that it is the policy of Her Majesty's Government to seek full membership of the European Communities on terms which are fair to all.—[Vol. 803, c.183.]
