HC Deb 09 February 1970 vol 795 cc266-7W
Mr. Ron Lewis

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many Carlisle householders have been granted rate rebates in each year since the scheme became operative; what has been the average rebate in each of these years; and how these figures compare with individual rate relief allowed to Carlisle householders under the Rating (Interim Relief) Act which came into effect in the first half of 1964.

Mr. Denis Howell

The figures for rebates are as follows:

Year Number of recipients Average amount of rebate
£ s.
1966–67 1,939 12 10
1967–68 1,623 13 3
1968–69 1,557 12 17

No relief was granted to individual ratepayers under the Rating (Interim Relief) Act, 1964.
