HC Deb 30 April 1970 vol 800 c371W
52. Mr. Mawby

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what plans she has to reduce unemployment among the registered disabled.

Mr. Dell:

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on 4th December to my hon. Friend the Member for Stoke-on-Trent South (Mr. Ashley).

The new arrangements for strengthening the disablement resettlement officer service have started and should be in full operation by the early summer. My right hon. Friend has appealed to employers through the Confederation of British Industry and Local Government Associations and to the nationalised industries for their help in identifying more employment opportunities for disabled people.— [Vol. 792, c. 323–4.]
