§ 58. Mr. Pavittasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement on the present state of negotiations between the United Kingdom and India on the new tariff for imports of cotton textiles from India; and if it is still proposed that these tariffs should come into effect on 1st January, 1972.
§ Mr. Mason:As regards the first part of the Question I have nothing to add to the Answer I gave on 25th February to my hon. Friend the Member for Yarmouth (Dr. Gray). No date has yet been fixed for farther inter-Governmental discussions. As regards the second part there has been no change in the position necessitating a review of the decision.— [Vol. 796, c. 334.]
