asked the President of the Board of Trade what consultations he had with local interests outside Luton before changing the aircraft routes from Luton Airport in April, 1970.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts:

The recent establishment, for aviation safety reasons, of a special rules zone and a special rules area near Luton Airport made it necessary for the owner, Luton Corporation, to change the previous minimum noise routes. Consultation with local interests would therefore be a matter for Luton Corporation, but it is fair to add that the scope for other routes is very restricted
