HC Deb 15 February 1967 vol 741 c100W
Mr. Wolrige-Gordon

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what representations he has received from interests in this country about imports of subsidised Danish bacon; and what reply he has sent.

Mr. Hoy

We have received a number of representations about the effective level of support to the pigmeat industry in Denmark as compared with the United Kingdom. We have promised to study these but, as I said in reply to the hon. Member for Lowestoft (Mr. Prior) on 30th November, there has been no direct supplementation of prices paid by co-operative bacon factories since mid-June last and indirect help cannot readily be quantified.
