HC Deb 21 December 1967 vol 756 cc538-9W
Mr. Will Owen

asked the Minister of Transport if, in the interests of public safety, she will cause a study to be made of the need for all travelling shops to be fitted with reversing lights, and audible warning devices; and whether she will make a statement.

Mr. Carmichael:

All motor vehicles are already required to be fitted with audible warning devices.

The information about accidents involving mobile shops or occurring near them does not suggest that any special audible warning devices, or reversing lights, would significantly help safety.
