HC Deb 21 December 1967 vol 756 c499W
Mr. Chichester-Clark

asked the Minister of Health what advice he has given to regional hospital boards regarding guarantees required from private industrialised builders engaged in building contracts for the boards; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. K. Robinson:

Hospital building contracts are normally carried out under the Royal Institute of British Architects Form of Contract, which contains standard safeguards on such matters as completion, workmanship, and adequacy of materials. All design is done or supervised by professional designers independent of the contractor, and no special guarantees are therefore required as regards design.
