§ 95. Mr. David Watkinsasked the Minister of Transport what proposals she has to improve road communications between the developing industrial site at Tanfield Lea, Stanley, County Durham, and the freightliner terminal at Follingsby.
§ Mr. CarmichaelImprovement of the access roads at Tanfield Lea should be completed by 31st March, 1968, and the access roads at Follingsby will be improved as part of the £3 million Black Fell-White Mare Pool special road scheme. Work on this and on the £3 million scheme for converting the A1 Birtley By-pass to a motorway is due to start next year. An improvement at Beamish on A693 is about to start.
