HC Deb 02 November 1966 vol 735 cc133-4W
Mr. Ford

asked the President of the Board of Trade what support he is rendering to the National Wool Textile Export Corporation in its representations to the United States Federal Trade Commission opposing the introduction of compulsory testing of the fibre content of imported fabrics.

Mr. Jay

My Department has worked closely with the National Wool Textile Export Corporation in preparing their submission to the United States Federal Trade Commission. The Government is also making representations to the United States Government in support of the Corporation's case, and has drawn attention to the possible implications of the Commission's proposals in relation to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.
