HC Deb 02 November 1966 vol 735 c133W
Mr. Brooks

asked the President of the Board of Trade what is his present estimate of the number of supersonic airliners which will be requiring airport facilities in Great Britain in 10 years' time; and what plans have so far been made to meet this estimated demand.

Mr. Mason

It is too early to make precise estimates of this kind, particularly because of uncertainties about the date at which the American S.S.T. will enter service; in regard to the second part of the Question the facilities at United Kingdom airports likely to be used by these aircraft should, together with planned improvements, be adequate for their operation.
