§ Mr. MacDermotThe information requested is available as at 1st October, 1964, and 1st January, 1966.
NUMBERS OF NON-INDUSTRIAL CIVIL SERVANTS (THOUSANDS) Excluding Post Office Including Post Office 1st October, 1964 418.3 695.6 1st January, 1966 426.1 821.6 In April 1965, two changes were made in the statistics relating to civil servants. Almost all Post Office staff classified as industrial (approximately 104,500) were reclassified as non-industrial. The staff of the Forestry Commission (approximately 2,900) as a grant aided body were excluded. The net increase (including Post Office staff) is, therefore, 24,400.
