§ Mr. CallaghanAbout £1 million in respect of street lighting of trunk roads. The 1966–67 Estimates also provide about £20 million to meet 75 per cent. of the cost of rate rebates under the Rating Bill at present before Parliament. There will, of course, be a transfer to the Exchequer of some £33 million in 1967–68 under the proposals put forward in the White Papers on Local Government Finance (Cmnd. 2921 and 2923).
