HC Deb 04 July 1966 vol 731 cc3-4W
Mr. Brian Parkyn

asked the Minister of Health how many nurses in Bedford General Hospital, North Wing, who took Part II of the course for state registered midwives, have left the hospital during the past three years because they were unable to take Part I at the same hospital.

Mr. K. Robinson

I have no evidence that midwives have left for this reason.

Mr. Brian Parkyn

asked the Minister of Health if he will provide money for Bedford General Hospital, North Wing, so that nurses who wish to take Part I of the course for state registered midwives may be enabled to do so.

Mr. K. Robinson

This is a matter for the Regional Hospital Board who I understand, have approved in principle the provision of Part I training facilities and are considering the financial consequences.
