§ 69. Mr. Dalyellasked the Minister of Education what proposals there are for promoting the training of school laboratory technicians.
§ Mr. ChatawayThis subject was dealt with by the Joint Working Party on the Training and Supply of Laboratory Technicians Employed by Local Education Authorities which reported in 1961. My right hon. Friend commended this report to education authorities last year and asked them to consider what action they should take to give effect to the working party's recommendations. The City and Guilds of London Institute has recently published a revised scheme for the Science Laboratory Technician's Ordinary Certificate, and I understand that a scheme for an Advanced Certificate will be published next year.
