HC Deb 09 February 1960 vol 617 c25W
63. Mr. Willis

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland why the secondary department of Moray House Demonstration School is being closed; and if he will make a statement.

64. Mr. Hoy

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the future of Moray House School, Edinburgh.

Mr. Maclay

The Governors of Moray House College of Education have asked me to approve a proposal to discontinue the secondary department of the College Demonstration School, in order to make accommodation available for the further expected increase in the numbers of College students entering training. The Governors propose that no more pupils would be enrolled in the first year of the secondary department next session but pupils already in the secondary department would be allowed to complete their courses. The primary department of the school would not be affected. I am at present considering the proposal.
