HC Deb 09 February 1960 vol 617 cc25-6W
65. Mrs. Hart

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many psychiatrists, educational psychologists, and psychiatric social workers, respectively, are employed on a full-time and on a part-time basis by local authorities in Scotland.

Mr. Maclay

Consultant psychiatric services, like other specialist services, are provided by the hospital authorities. All local authorities have medical officers engaged on mental health work: some are employed whole-time on this work, but most have other health duties. Local authorities also employ 91 educational psychologists and five psychiatric social workers full-time, and one psychiatric social worker part-time.
