§ Captain Kerbyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that, under present taxation, a man with a capital of £60,000 who, by restraint in personal spending, saves £500 a year for ten years, has the whole of the saving taken from him in death duties when he dies; and if he will take steps to end such penal taxation whilst framing his impending Budget proposals.
