§ Mr. HopkinsonA caique named "Agios Georgios" was intercepted on the night of 25th January after unloading 27 cases of explosives at a small cove near Paphos. The crew and a number of villagers from the nearby village of Khlorakas who appear to have participated in the unloading have been detained for investigations, which are continuing. Those arrested have all been remanded in custody on charges of smuggling and being in possession of explosives. H.M.S. "Comet" intercepted and boarded the caique while it was attempting to escape, and it was brought into Paphos harbour under a prize crew. The crew of the caique offered no resistance.
