HC Deb 26 May 1954 vol 528 c29W
88. Mr. Short

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General if he will arrange for stamp-moistening pads to be placed on counters of sub-post offices in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in such a position that the public can use them.

Mr. Gammans

Some sub-postmasters keep their stamp-moistening pads on the official side of the counter because, if they are left on the public side, they are apt to be pushed on one side and knocked off. If the hon. Member will let me have details of any particular case of difficulty I shall be glad to look into the matter.
