§ Mr. de Freitasasked the Under-Secretary of State for Air what arrangements have been made for continuing the employment of the civilians employed at Waddington while the Royal Air Force station is closed.
Mr. WardThere are at the moment 114 civilians employed by the Air Ministry at Waddington, and we expect that while the airfield is being developed about two-thirds of them will still be needed there. Of the remainder, a dozen or so established staff will be moved to vacancies elsewhere, and we shall try to fit as many as possible of those who are unestablished into jobs at other Air Ministry units nearby.
