asked the Minister of Agriculture if he will approve the continuation of the rat and mice destruction service now operated by the agricultural executive committees in such counties where it is paying its way, or where it could, with a small increase in the contract charges, be made self-supporting.

In general, I am prepared to authorise county agricultural executive committees to continue the service for the time being in the conditions mentioned, but I must consider each case on its merits. The whole position will be kept under review.
