HC Deb 12 February 1953 vol 511 cc54-5W
64. Mr. Blenkinsop

asked the Minister of Agriculture what action he is prepared to take to protect the members of a Newcastle-upon-Tyne allotment association, who have been given notice without the offer of any alternative site, and about which representations have been made to him.

Sir T. Dugdale

As the hon. Member has already been informed this land is privately owned, and I have no power to protect these allotment holders from a notice to quit. I understand that Newcastle City Council will try to provide alternative plots.
